Fake American Accent – A monthly Poetry Reading

Fake American Accent is a monthly poetry reading in which six writers respond to a slice of pop culture.

Each poem is created specifically for the show in response to a quote, film, or album assigned a month before the reading. We’re just out here trying to cite our sources.

Fake American Accent is teasing at the change in intonation many writers have when they begin reading their work, that mimicking before the settling. It is presented by Thursday Girls: a dream team collaboration between performance artist and acclaimed poet Vanessa Crofskey alongside writer, filmmaker and true Sagittarius, Amanda Jane Robinson.
