From Tuesday 21st June, our latest exhibition of works from the Wallace Arts Trust alongside selected new works from the Manukau Institute of Technology opens in the bar. A new exhibition specially curated for our Matariki Season at Basement Theatre by MIT student Shanaz Nisha Faraji.
Based on the connections we share to Papatūānuku, the earth mother, this exhibition will reflect how she lies at the root of all existence and reminds us of the connections we all have with each other and the land.
Artists include: Israel Tangaroa Birch, Darryn George, Star Gossage, John Walsh, Pauline Thompson, Robin Slow, Robin White, Scott McFarlane, Selwyn Muru, and Sonny Broughton.
The opening on Tuesday evening starts at 5.30pm and features a spoken word performance by Colleen Henry.
